Previous Website

JazzFest previous design

Selby Ave. JazzFest has been putting together this event since 2003 for the community in St. Paul Minnesota. The event features full day of great jazz from local, regional, national and international performers, great food, family fun zone and a health & wellness village.

The organizers thought it was about time to put the time and effort to remaking the website. The site needed a consistent brand feel, an organized site, and to feel the excitement of the event to attract more people.

Wireframes

After planning out a sitemap and userflow, the wire frames were created. This proved effective allowing the organizers to focus on the content and flow of the site without being distracted by colors and images.

Two color schemes were presented. The first color scheme is in vintage brown and the second is a cool more modern teal.
The modern teal color scheme was chosen without further revisions.

Prototype

The prototype was designed and created for the entire site. The main area of concern was for vendors to easily access information rather than trying to contact the organizers unnecessarily. The design included a button on the main banner for the vendor information page.

Prototype

The style guide is limited to a few colors as to not distract from the colorful images and give a simple, clean color theme.
